Uh what? Uh oh yeah, welcome back to the What Do We Infer podcast. My name is Adobe. And this script. No script. No script. Fuck the script. We're off the script now, bitch. My name is Adobe. My name is Adobe. And this is our podcast where we talk about anything related to the furry fandom. My buddy Ryu and I take turns introducing topics each episode, sometimes entirely about the fandom, or it's just not enough about it. Speaking of a Ryu. I fucking missed you. I missed you so much. It feels like we haven't talked in forever, but even though we've been talking like a bunch today as well. And then last time I know, we've been talking a lot today. I know, it's like you actually like me or something. I know, I love you. Even though we're both straight, but I love you. What? No. When am I straight? When am I? We're both bisexual. I get well. That's why that's why I love you and you love me, and we're together forever. Romantically. Platonically. Platonically, romantically. Hello, girlfriends. Well, your wife, my girlfriend, listen to this. Hello's. Hello. How are you? What have you been up to? What's new? I feel great today. I feel pretty good to do to do today. I feel pretty good today as well. Because I woke up at 9.30 and I haven't done a single fucking thing all day long. Actually, I lied. I went to Academy and I bought more fishing bait today. I bought a bunch of tiny baits to go with my new tiny fishing rod. Are they uh fake like the scented rubber baits or what are they? Yeah, no, they're they're like the hard plastic. Um I got a few crankbaits, I got us, I got some little jigs, um, got a new spinner bait, a small one. Um what else? What else did I get? Oh, I got a I got a cool little swim bait. Yeah. So restocking my stuff that I lost in trees recently. So my poor whopper plopper stuck in the tree. I went and saw it today. It's still there. Wait. A what? My whopper plopper. Is that what it's called? Yes, that's what it's called. And it goes in the water. Uh me when I'm trying to get to the egg first. Whopper plopper? No, I meant pretending like I was like a little sperm, like race into the I don't think that landed. Oh, yeah. I probably landed with no one. I thought that was funny. Because you went. Would you say? Me when I try to get to the egg first. Insinuate. How are you? I'm good because we're in our little recording studio. Well, virtual recording studio. But we're in our recording studio now, which is cool. And it feels cool. So it's pretty spacious in here. It is. And now we have people that can listen to us live. Too bad nobody's too bad nobody's listening. Oh. They don't need to know that. They don't need to know that. We have so many listeners right now. Wow. Wow. Yeah, we're actually recording this prior to the launch of the Discord. So we're in like the soft launch phase of like this is a little baby era of the Discord. It exists. It exists. It's just not out yet. It's alive. Or is it? Do do do do do do do do do do. I am cool. And yeah, you're pretty cool. What have I been up to? How's your shoulder? Uh I go to physical therapy next week, officially. Nice. So nice. Or actually, no, by the time this comes out, I have had physical therapy. I have had physical therapy. And how was it? Hoping it was probably great. And they probably told me I can play disc golf in probably three months. Probably. Woo! I have my little heart monitor on too. Nice. I got a little little chess piece. It's all like, hey, press me when your heart hurts and write it down. And then I send it out. And then they'll tell me. Oh, hey, he pressed his little heart thing, probably for a reason. Let's see why. So that'll also have been sent out, and we'll have an upcoming appointment from today's date in about a week. So intriguing. So so there's a lot of like assumptions I have to make right now because I mean I have podcast scheduling brain where when this comes out, it's not present from when I'm mentioning some of these things. The hard thing probably went great. You know what else is hard? My love for you. Me. Sherbert. Sherbert joined the audience, right? Oh, hey! Welcome. Soft launch, guys. Soft launch. Soft launch. Soft launch. Soft launch. Soft launch. You know what else is soft? You? My love for you. Oh. Also. Kind of sweet. Sensual. You know what else is sensual? What? My love for you. Oh. You're so sweet. So ready. You know what else is ready? You, because I'm asking you. What do we need for today? Ooh! I'm so glad you asked, my boy. Oh man. Post Adobe, please add that as an MP3. Thank you. Hang on, let me hit my vape. Drum roll, please. Are you ready? Am I ready? Well, I'm hard, I'm soft, I'm sensual, and I think I said ready. What else did I say? Today, we are gonna talk about furry hot takes. Oh, I love I think Adobe's excited because we're diving into furry hot takes. The opinions that get people typing two paragraphs on Discord at 2 a.m. Some of these are gonna be funny, some of these are gonna be uncomfortable, some of them are gonna expose us a little bit, and honestly, that's the point. God bless you. So are these hot takes from the community specifically, like popular community hot takes or what? No, I just came up with them. Oh. So this is hot takes part two. Hot takes part two. Hot takes part two. I forgot we did a part one. Oops. Kind of. Hot takes part two. There's so many hot takes. Or hot takes 1.2. 1.2? What was 1.1? We skipped it. Is 1.1 the same as 1.0? No, it's not the same as 0.0. Well, what's 1.3? Wait. My brain hurts. You're thinking you're thinking too hard. Don't hurt yourself. Okay, let's get into it. Are you ready? Some personas are overdone overdesigned by rare by fuck. Some personas are overdesigned beyond recognition. So do we give our opinions on these hot takes? Like how are we gonna approach this? So so we can talk about it. I'll talk about it, and I mean we can kind of give our own opinions about it. So there's too many colors, there's too many accessories, you have no silhouette clarity, and unique, you you gotta you gotta think about being unique versus versus visually readable, you know? At some point your fursona stops being a character and starts becoming a loot drop. Like respectfully, if I need a if I need if I need a fucking flow chart to understand your design, we've gone too far. So listen, I have a solution for anyone who looks at a sona and goes, that's too many colors. Just voluntarily be colorblind. Then you don't have to worry about seeing all these colors. Um, so I I I I'm a little on the other side of this, in my own version of a hot take, but I think everyone is entitled to have sonas in however way they see fit. And they are allowed to have as many colors as they'd like. But I'm allowed to say, in my mind, and probably not out loud, because I respect and love everybody, sometimes might be, that they're wrong for their choices. No, so like it I love when a sauna stands out. It's nice and very refreshing to see a fursona that is just truly unique or one that you just don't see very often. Yeah. I I will say when a sauna has so many colors or like hyper outfit choices, uh, at least visually, like regarding art and whatnot, you don't really see it as often in person. But um, it does make it harder to enjoy the uniqueness of that sauna when it's blown up with 15 different colors that just don't complement each other very well. I think sparkle dogs um are they as they are certain species. I don't know much about them, but are they like the color of sparkle dogs? Super colorful, a lot of random stuff on them kind of species. Am I wrong on that? Sparkle dogs, furry. I've never heard of a sparkle dog. I'm looking it up right now. Images. Well, it's like a rave dog. Yeah. Okay, sparkle dog. Yes, lots and lots of colors. I I kind I guess I'm kind of referencing sparkle dogs. Rainbowy colors and like some of them work, some of them work, and then there's some that are like uh emo, emo hair. I kind of dig it though. I kind of dig sparkle dogs. Some of them work for me, some of them don't. Some of them are too loud, some of them are complimentary. Some of them I think I think it's just an excuse to be rainbow emo dog. Badass emo. Yeah. Me, me when I was in middle school. Badass little kid, that's what you were. Well, no, I was stupid. Very stupid. Tell me about it. Overreacting to FNAF jump scares at my lunch table just to get attention. I think a lot of overdesign actually comes from like insecurity. That or lack of artistic vision, but yeah. Well, no, but like some people might think like more detail means like more original more originality. That is true. And more traits means more personality. But more complexity doesn't always equal more value. I think people underestimate how powerful simplicity actually is. Uh, for anyone who doesn't know uh my buddy Furball, we did I I did an episode with him as a guest. He was on um Furb something pack, part of the pack, Furball's Path, something like that. If everyone wants to get the episode or listen, what episode was that, like three, three or four? No, later, like seven, eight, or five or six. Seven! No! But the reason why I bring him up, you you guys should go definitely check him out, by the way. He has one of my favorite simplistic sauna designs. It's in my opinion, very unique. It uses a specific blue purplish tone that I don't see very often in just sauna colors in general. And it's also under an impression of like a synthwave vibe. Yeah, and it works and it's unique, and I love his design so much. I love I love Furball's Sona, it's it's such a beautiful character. The colors complex designs, who comes to mind? I I don't know. Like, I I like complex designs. I like like I I'm not gonna say that my Sphinx cat is complex because it still only has a few colors, but it has a complex like patterning design, but that's not really what we're talking about. Yeah, you know, I really can't think of a lot of sonas that I like a lot that are very complex because none come to my mind. Yeah, I can't really think of any. In my mind's eye. But uh honestly, that that kind of proves a point. What you just said is like some of the most iconic personas are recognizable because of because they're clear, not because they're complicated. Yeah. You know? But it's still okay to have complex tonic, because I know there's that one person looking at their phone and then they go, ooh, I've been listening to these guys for how long? And they're just they're very good mental. You're here for a reason, you listen, suck it up and down and be good. Fuck. No, I'm kidding. Please don't please don't take anything we're taking, we're saying seriously, because at the end of the day, this is these are my opinions. Yeah. And it's a hot time. If you're getting a little heated, you're just doing it right. I don't care how you feel. No, I'm kidding. I love you. Uh no, I don't know what you said. I love you too. Huh? I don't know what you said. What? I don't know what you said. Hello? I I can hear you. I know. Oh, apparently not, because it's also side tangent, this will get cut out. Sherbert, that image is a that's a horrible image. Where? You can check the chat at the top right to see the audience's like uh messages. Oh my god. Oh my god! Oh my god. I'm the one with the beer bottle. Adobe, please be selective. What goes in? Anyways, what? Go on. Number two. Number two. I think that the fandom pretends it's less horny than it is. We talked about this, but we were on the other side of it. No, actually, I did bring that up. I'll just bounce off that. I had mentioned in that episode, if I recall correctly, that um the furry fandom is very horny. That can be stated on its own, but there are people who deny that it is very horny when what was the hot take? I lost your trade thought. The fandom pretends it's less horny than it actually is. Correct. Yeah, there's a lot of people that live in this echo chain bell with other people that like to paint the paint the paint the fandom in this extremely innocent light. Which, granted, there is an innocent light there, but it's not the only light source shining. There is a horny side, and it's very much so there. And if you unwrap yourself with people who are very horny, that's what you're gonna experience. That is the fandom to you. And then you have other people who enwrap themselves with people who aren't horny, and that's the fandom experience. The problem is you'll have both sides be like, Well, the fandom is just this, or the fandom is just this, or they try to say it's the more dominant side, right? Now, debating whatever argument is better is debatable and it's uh it's opinionated, right? Um, obviously it's nice to say the fandom isn't horny because it looks nicer in a public eye. But unfortunately, you do have a lot of people just like to pretend like no horny thing doesn't happen. No, that's just a few people. And yeah, they're always like, oh, it's about creativity, it's just art. Stop stereotyping us. But but then they have an entire NSFW ecosystem like adult telegram chats, um, the nightlife at conventions, of course, uh, explicit commission culture, after dark room parties, etc. Like there's nothing but there's nothing inherently wrong with adult content being uh involved between consenting adults. The the weirdness just comes from pretending the adult side barely exists when it's actually deeply integrated into the furry culture. Correct. And this doesn't go for everyone. The people who say that there isn't much of an NSF NSFW side aren't necessarily people who are also saying, well, there is none at all. You know, the this is more for I would say a smaller portion of people, right? But it is still a variable thing, hence why we're talking about it. Because people like to just say it's not a thing at all. Um, you know, I I've been in my own world with the fandom where I've participated in things that were more on the NSFW side, and I have been in the fandom and participate with people, participated with people who are not in the NSFW scene whatsoever. I've kind of feel like I've seen a little bit of both because I've been on both ends in a drastic sense. And at the end of the day, you have the people that are under this hot take under what you're talking about now, it it is very much so there. And it can be kind of sometimes just as dangerous because it it almost sounds like you're pushing a lie onto people. When really, when you come to the truth of what the fandom has as an entirety, I feel like that's a healthy push forward, just with the fandom going like it as a whole. But you know, again, this this isn't everyone. There are many, many people recognize that there is a horny side, but then you know, it just kind of depends. It's not talking to everyone! I'm sorry if it's a little hot in here, I'm just saying. It's it's a little hot, but it's hot because you're in it. Oh, stop it. Stop it, you stop it! But no, I the the furry fandom isn't uniquely horny. I think humans are just horny. The furry fandom is just unusually honest and artistic about it. That is actually very well because the yes, because what I was about to mention is that like in real life, all right, everyone, let's take a step back from being a furry. I I know, I I know it's scary. I know, but just think of who you are, your real name, your skin. Sex as a whole is feel your skin. Rip your skin off! Yummy. Sex as a whole is taboo to talk about in in real life. You know, if you're in a social setting with people, sex isn't necessarily gonna be a topic you guys bring up. Or the idea of nudity is a taboo, it's an eye turner kind of kind of ordeal. Where some cultures just accept it. I feel like that idea is why it carries over into the fandom because sex is a very real thing. People masturbate on a daily, but you say that or talk about that. Yeah, I do it like five times a day. What are you talking about? You got a nice fucking dick there, then. God damn, I'd get blue my dick would be hardened, and that's not important. Uh Doby, please don't include that. Um, but you know, be sex in our culture is a hard thing to talk about. Masturbation. I mean, on literally me saying masturbation is like, oh, that that is very taboo to talk about. So then bringing that idea. Yeah, that makes me kind of uncomfy. Exactly. So bring that idea into the fandom, it's exactly what this hot take is under. People don't want to accept it, even though it's just a human thing. So, I mean, I know at masturbation specifically is a very narrowed down point, but I feel like that makes my boy still. Masturbater. That's me. That you are. You are a masturbator. I sure am. What am I? You you are a little bitch boy. You saw that one coming? I did. Okay, number three. Having an expensive fursuit doesn't automatically make you interesting. Did we talk about that? We talked about how not having a fur how having a fursuit doesn't automatically make you a furry. No. Uh without b you can still be a furry without having a fursuit. Okay. I just want to make sure I wasn't bringing up my same argument that that's all. I I say I say having a fursuit or uh that is an expensive, more expensive fursuit doesn't make you interesting automatically. Because fursuits create visible visible visibility immediately. Because ver you'll you'll see a fursuiter before you see a normal random human being standing there. And at cons, if you're wearing a fursuit, people photograph you, people approach you, people recognize you, and sometimes that visibility accidentally becomes social status. But visibility and personality are not the same thing. That that that's that's what I think. I have to try this one lightly because I I'm enrapped with people who fall under this are really selective here. There are people that I know that chase expensive fursuits. And, you know, all the power to them, no judge, you know, whether it's someone I personally know as a friend, or you know, whether you're just a listener who is chasing an expensive fursuit. It's fine and all that. That's okay. It doesn't make you better. And if you're chasing popularity or fame solely based off the fact that you're getting something from a popular maker, you are going to be met with disappointment and your expectations are gonna be set too high. And there's gonna be one of two things. You're you're gonna feel like you wasted your time and your money, you're gonna have like imposter syndrome while wearing the fursuit, or on the other hand, you're gonna have an ego complex and or a god complex, I guess I should say. And it creates this uh, not I don't know if toxic would be the term, but it creates this unhealthy, uh unhealthy emotional attachment towards that purchase. It's a dependency. It's like it is like people become overly dependent on like the attention they get from the suit, the recognition they get in the fandom, and like the social clout. In my opinion, the comparison stands to, you know, in in like a real life sense. If I bought a nice, tight-fitting, cheap, plain shirt, I'd be happy, like, hey, are you? How do you th how do you like how this looks? But if I bought uh a Gucci t-shirt, I'm gonna approach it differently. I'm gonna want your reaction to be more positive. I'm gonna want you to say something about it being Gucci. Um, I don't give a fuck that you have a Gucci shirt. Exactly, and neither do I. And I think that idea carries over into expensive fursuits. But yeah, so you know, if you own an expensive fursuit, you're probably still a cool guy. I'm not gonna say you're an asshole. But having a fursuit already makes people stand out. Having an expensive fursuit makes you feel unique in a world that you are just one of a billion. And unfortunately, that's just how we are as people, and everyone wants to stand out and feel important, and it's not a bad thing, but it leads to toxic traits and bad emotional attachments. Yeah. That's my hot take, but I still love you. I love you. I wasn't talking. Yeah, I meant to listener. You don't have an fursuit. Wow. Cash. I don't have an expensive fursuit. My fursuit is pretty good. I love you less because your fursuit's less expensive. My first suit was I'm poor, you're rich, and your fursuit's better than mine because you paid more money for it. Enough said. I said my part. Alright, here's for the real one. Furry Twitter and furry discord are two different universes. They are in my opinion. I think okay. So furry Twitter often feels like it's performative, image conscious, um, algorithm driven, very algorithm driven, and publicly curated. While Discord feels a little emotionally chaotic, um, can be intimate sometimes. Um, it's very unfiltered and you're sleep deprived a lot if you're in if you're on Discord. Most of you. If you're dependent on Discord as a platform I'm I'm looking I'm looking at a few people. Me too. On Twitter people brand themselves they cultivate aesthetics and they perform socially as Twitter is. I mean I'm guilty of it. Listen I'll I'll even admit to it like the po when I've posted like on my personal lease way back when I was absolutely more performative on what I was posting. Absolutely take ownership of that. Yeah. Because it gets the clicks baby. But on Discord you're not worried about clicks. You're not looking for views or comments necessarily you're looking for community and interaction. No you're like oversharing shit it to a um you're sending cursed memes and you're accidentally trauma dumping trauma dumping with your friends. It's not accidental you half the time they're aware they're doing it they join they join a Discord call while three people are gaming and then they join just be like oh yeah my life sucks guys here's why and listen to me while you guys play Minecraft there are two these are two basically these are basically two different social environments pretending to be the same thing. Yeah I think yeah I I completely get that sentiment like it uh I think we understand that Twitter is an interact like it is an interaction chasing platform and a sharing platform where Discord is meant to be like a community builder or a more personal interaction with others. But what I don't see is you know I call them Twitter friends or people that you are friends with through your following or and they're following you and you guys comment coming each other's posts maybe chat a couple times in in in Twitter. Those are your Twitter friends the people that you just interact with through that social media. What I don't personally see this could be my lack of perspective possibly I'll own that but I don't see those Twitter friends chatting with you on Discord asking you to play games they're there with your interactions and to comment on your post and getting that back where the environment that environment doesn't transfer into Discord which again different platforms but the interactions you're getting are just not it as genuine it's not comparable. Right um and you know I really just don't like Twitter to be honest. I think no but I think Twitter's where people become characters and Discord is where those characters psychologically unravel does that make sense I forget you're the smart one yeah I'm the smart one yeah you're definitely a smart one out of I don't feel very smart. You are it was very well said oh thank you you're welcome speaking of Twitter and Discord uh we have a Twitter called what are we in for on Twitter Twitter. It's not there's there's no podcast. I love you more I love my girlfriend as well hi girlfriend that's two twinkles my vape died I'm really sad oh mine did mine's on the bed where's my vape let me go let me go plug it in real quick I got it I got my vape wait back I really missed you so happy you're here because you're gonna oh you really panicking because I was gone yeah no I don't know what to do because you right here and I I feel you are just like our dog you're such a dog about a dog I was gone for like a minute I really didn't miss you I was just trying to make you feel good oh you do make me feel good yeah I do there's a lot of sexual energy sounds like the dab just sounds like the d sound sounds like the dab just punched you in the throat yeah it did where were we where do we leave off next hot take while your throat's hot and fire because you have a drawing number five now we're getting back into what your sniff my sniff it was disgusting I'm getting over something I don't know what it is and my allergies are just also shit because the weather wants to my allergies are also shit like my nose is so dry and that it's runny and then it's dry and that's runny. Dude I hate it oh my god number five a lot of furries are terrified of being cringe while doing extremely cringe things oh that's me I it's one of the funniest contradictions in the furry fandom I think I'll let you know we'll literally we'll we'll spend thousands of dollars on suits we'll cry over fictional animal characters but then we'll panic over sincere compliments over we'll we'll freak out whenever somebody's emotionally honest. Well I I'm not cute it even says it in my bio I don't don't call me cute I'm not calling me cute stop I fucking hate that shut up quit being a little bitch you're fucking cute to you you're welcome but I think basically I think people are less afraid of being weird than they are of being emotionally exposed. That's really all I have to say about that one. I so for me with the furry fandom I love it so much but I do have a fear of being cringy when I know realistically that is not a fear I should have the TFF dancing haunts me in my mind and that lives rent free in my head unfortunately and that is literally where some of the fear comes from because I don't want to relive that moment especially if it's on camera. But I I'm banging my desk with this bottle get sorry I just started across my room but it's okay um I unfortunately like I wish I could argue that hot take but I do fall in the category of like I do do cringe things. I do weird make I what I do weird things yes and I I publicize it I make it I make it live but I'm also out of constant fear of being cringy even though my personality and my online presence is cringy and like I own it but I also don't like being cringy and I don't want to be looked at as cringy. Because I I can be but it's a contradiction because I know I'm cringy and I try to be sometimes and other times I don't want to be and this is probably cringy I don't really know this is pretty cringe yeah just shut up okay yeah I hate you sorry poppy you're welcome number six question more for number six I want a LaCroix go get a LaCroix what flavor it's the same one that I chugged the other day it's the strawberry sunset. Nice chug it again no that was see that whole bit okay hold on timeout that whole bit from two episodes ago was cringy that was cringy I don't even know why I included that I was like ah I'll listen this is hold on editor mindset here we go here we go lock in with me here's my mindset while we record okay let let's let's make this a little bit funny and have a little bit of fun with it try to make it a quick bit we recorded it is what it is it was kind of dumb but we enjoyed it then I'm editing I'm like ah this is kind of cringy let me edit it in a way that is kind of funny add some bouncing music and whatever to it I did that I was like ah let me post this I posted it and then I listened back and like why would I think me chugging and nauseously burping on the microphone would be a funny thing to add. I guess burping is our thing it just kinda happens but there is a reasonable limit that I need to respect and I just said in the fan mail they said that burping isn't our thing or shouldn't be our thing there's a line I crossed that line by a mobile yeah so I'm I'm just gonna own it I recognize and I'm cringy and I don't know how to respond to something I can be cringe I can be cringe right say something cringy uh uh ooh I think what was more cringy is you immediately laughed at yourself before I tried to respond shut up shut up next question or next and next next hot take next hot take convention hookup culture is real how is that a hot take it's just the truth well I'm glad you agree it is well some people pretend that it doesn't exist it does and okay fine it can no no no no no I think it's like it's a valid thing to include because if you're not in the hookup culture it kind of goes over your head at a furry convention like it is just not a part of the experience you're going to find if you're not in those crowds or or in a in a online space like the like bark or something or if you're not in like a friend group that talks about and or experiences these like convention hookups or friends with benefits ordeal it's there. And what I was saying earlier which I'm not gonna elaborate more on it's very much so a thing heavily it's very much so a thing you can go on bark and put your status as horny see what happens uh oh R.I.P. your notifications R.I.P. my nuts R.I.P. your butthole was that not funny I still I'm trying to think of a response sex happens at cons y'all if you're at a furry convention I can almost guarantee you this this might be a hot take if you're at a furry convention and you rented a hotel room I would put money down that within the couple years prior some furry has fucked in that bed with another furry at like the at like the stationed hotels that are designated for the con done the most disgusting things in that bed disgust the most disgusting vile degrading actions have been had in hotel rooms specifically on the hotel beds there have been some stains some some emotional stains that just will never wash out of those bed sheets I don't want to go to hotel anymore somebody has died in the bed that you slept in at that Marriott in New Orleans died people have died in hotels I know I know no I know but you're saying every hotel bed someone's died no not every shut up thank you for explaining convention hookup culture honestly because adult or like the nightlife at furry conventions it's a social layer people rarely explain honestly they they're never really honest about it. So you were pretty honest about it so thank you. And like I said this doesn't go for everyone there are a lot of people that recognize it and know it's a thing. I think some people lack the knowledge to know the extent of it or are intentionally just avoidant of it which again isn't a bad thing. None none of I I would argue a lot of opinions that people have towards these hot takes or how whatever stance they take, none of them are necessarily bad. None of them are necessarily like oh well how dare you think this way or look this way this is just kind of what we've analyzed or what I've recognized personally and how I agree with your with your mentions but at the end of the day I I don't necessarily believe that any of these takes or any of these perspectives are bad. I don't not necessarily I mean it depends on the extent it depends on the severity and how vocal you are about it maybe but who cares you know just you man next question next question next question the fandom has a parasocial problem oh that is a hot take it would have been one thing you'd been like oh the fandom has a lot of parasocial relationships like okay that's just a general statement it has a lot of parasocial problems like oh my dick I'm gonna say in the backseat on this one I'll let you take the wheel people become emotionally attached to a lot of people on the internet and especially whenever people like furries like animals and see people dressed up as animals and only see them as a walking talking animal they become attached to the personality of their character and oh my god I'm losing my thought. Are you jerking behind the wheel what's happening? What I said because you're stuttering and not knowing how to anyway so I'm gonna bounce off what he said if anyone's listened to uh has ever heard of the furry artist Whispers W H S P R S, I do recommend you guys give him a listen. He's an Australian musician very fantastic singer. Uh he has a song specifically Australian musician yes he has a he does a lot of furry music and he has a song specifically about parasocial relationships. The Google summary that I have here just to get it all out there simply is the song is called Foxboy. It's a upbeat punk track the song explores the modern phenomenon of parasocial relationships specifically capturing the perspective of a Twitch chatter who develops an obsession one-sided crush on the online streamer it is entirely down what you said and you saying the fandom has a lot or too many parasocial relationships as a problem. When when someone made a song about it which by the way it's a good song like very good check it out a lot of views um it's a very good song how many views does it have how many views because very very good but it's literally about parasocial relationships because they're very common there's a lot of them and it's a lot 311 for a furry song wild so yeah parasol relationships they kind of are a problem doesn't mean you're a bad person if you like someone on the internet everyone's a good person everyone's cool everyone's alright everyone's alright I'm just saying he no he's saying I'm in the backseat you can't hear me some people some people know shut up shut up some people know someone's sauna art style and favorite species and sleep schedule but never have actually had a real conversation with them. So that's kind of I have a furry hot take I'd really like to mention okay could I have could I add one? Yeah all right here's my hot take my furry hot take I want to add to the episode there are more people in the fandom that fall in love with someone's character rather than the person behind the character. Yes sexually or romantically or even like I want to be friends with you since yes people look at someone's character and this kind of bounces off like the popular fursuit kind of ordeal too they look at the fursuit and they have a crush or like a sexual desire or a desire to be friends with this person because it's a nice popular fursuit because it's a nice fursuit because of the people are more inclined to this is my hot take. Again not a problem I'm just saying well it depends how you look at it but people are much more inclined to look at a character that clicks with them in terms of like this is a very visually attracting care like an attractive character and they take those emotions and push it into a more unhealthy relationship with that um that character. And what happens is the emotional connection is well unhealthy. And then if they don't like the person behind the suit sometimes they'll get an ick sometimes they'll treat them differently sometimes not interact with them at all. And if they don't like the if they don't like the character at all they might not interact with them at all. Like it just depends like species is salamanderization sometimes happens you know we don't want to we don't want that word in here no it's a good word we don't speak of that term well round these parts but yeah that's my hot take I I do think there are too many it's not I I wouldn't I don't know if I'd say majority but there are too many people that have a fascination with someone's character over their actual personality. Yes dude so I I kind of have something I kind of have something that contradicts that oh your hot take being attractive in the fandom changes your entire experience having let me add to that having an attractive body yeah well you know that's objective but having what's globally perceived as an attractive body on top of an attractive fur uh fursona slash fursuit is a very bad conversation oh yeah yeah yeah but honestly some of the people some of these people have a great personality by the way like these are not these are not saying they're bad people good for them though no like like we're not trying to like slander the the people that look better than us but I mean so much better than us so much better than us so much better wow there's I can you actually believe no no like like can we actually appreciate like all of like the gin genuinely beautiful human beings on the planet like there are some beautiful human beings that if you're listening to this you're probably beautiful I don't know you're you're gorgeous you're fucking stunning possibly stunning sometimes yes but people don't like admitting this but attractiveness absolutely affects the fandom treatment yeah social popularity engagement charisma Twitter Twitter you know it could also it doesn't it it it attractiveness doesn't also mean physical it could mean like How we talked about suit quality earlier, like how expensive your fursuit is, or how nice your fursuit is. It could be your voice, it could be your aesthetic, it could be your confidence. But the fandom's still made of humans, and uh humans absolutely treat attractive people differently. Yeah, I think you're correct. So some of the nicest people that I've met are people that don't necessarily fall under the most attractive person category. And now again, this is not me saying that the people I talk to are not attractive. That's absolutely not what I'm saying. But like a lot of people I talk to don't necessarily have an eight-pack of abs, wear their fursuit peeled like a banana with their chest showing, but they wear their fursuit head and bottom. Like a lot of people I talk to don't fit that stereotype. And these are people like that are my rider dies, these are people that I I care a lot about, and don't like that does not play a role in my perspective of them. But you know, some people are just more willing to have parasocial relationships with these kind of people. Focus a lot of their attention there. You know, it it's an iffy subject, and you know, like um there's this one guy I follow on Twitter. Forget his name. He's a great guy. Gray, very attractive, wears like a banana peel. What's his name? Funny guy, very, very funny guy. Forget his name. Someone probably knows who I'm talking about. Moss. I have no idea who you're talking about. Moss. I don't know. Might not be Moss. Anyway, cool guy. I that guy actually seems fucking awesome and has a fun and cool personality. Uh, and and like on top of the benefits of what they have via fursuits in their body. But I don't know where I'm going with this. Why did I include that? What was the reason? Where was I at with that? I don't fucking know. I was just letting you let I was just letting you yap. Thank you. Put me back around a leash. Real reel me back in. Like like the fish that I didn't catch today. Well, you wouldn't be reeling me back in, would you? Dude, I thought I got a bite and I fucking set that hook so hard on that piece of algae. Oh my god. It was like this little this little stem like connected to like all this algae. It was really gross whenever I pulled it out. And uh dude, it was it's disgusting. I hate getting algae off of my fucking bait because it's just so slimy and wet and cold and green and doing myself. Yes. Because you just explained to yourself. Cold, wet, green, and fibrous. Yeah. Is that the joke? Yeah. Wow. Salamander is so funny. Shut up. I'm hilarious. Everyone's howling in their car as they listen to this on their morning car ride. If you're not listening to this in the morning, we're definitely not helping you sleep. What? You can't hear me, but I'm howling. I heard you go, ha! And then it cuts off. It sounded so funny. What did you just cut out? It sounded like you went. No, I went out. What the fuck are we doing? Why are we allowed to run a podcast? We're playing with our with our mic latency. Not latency. Um pickup. Whatever. I'm listening back to this, and that's all gonna pick up, and my headphones are just gonna be fucking screaming at me. Guys, that's all the hot takes I got for today. Um it's not I guess a little closing line would shut up. A little closing line would be the furry fandom isn't just costumes and art. It's loneliness, identity, attraction, creativity, vulnerability, mental health, mental health, connection, and just people trying to be understood. You know? You know, we're just we're just living. We're just living life. You only live once, baby. It's pitch black when you die. Unless you don't believe in that, I'm so sorry. Let's not include that because I'm not trying to argue with religion.
