SPEAKER_01

I don't I don't know what to believe anymore.

SPEAKER_02

Nah, I'm actually pretty not kinky anymore, to be honest. I've unkinked. Unkinked. Yeah. That'll be the start. Hey audience, I've unkinked myself. He's unkinked himself.

SPEAKER_01

Hello everyone. Welcome back to the What Are We In for podcast. I'm your host, Ryu, and this is our podcast where we talk about anything related to the furry fandom. My buddy Adobe and I we take turns every top every every week. Every yep, every week. And we talk about the furry fandom, or we don't talk about it at all. So speaking of a buddy Adobe, how you doing?

SPEAKER_02

I miss you. Oh, I miss you so much. Uh, post Adobe. Uh add, dramatic, lightning effect, and a good song for background. Thank you. Like the intro. Ryu. I have something terrible to tell you. Oh god. Terrible. Ryu. Terrible. We are imposters. We're copycats. We knew we're imposters. We're copycats. We're not unique. Welcome to Naples and Bananas, a furry podcast by two best friends who met in the furry fandom. Come join us, Luca and Naple, on TikTok. We decide to share our stories about our lives, our our fandom experiences, and more. And they post on Tuesdays. No, they don't. Yes, tomorrow.

SPEAKER_01

Do we just become best friends with another podcast? Maybe.

SPEAKER_02

But these are two best friends. And they've been doing it since 2024. And guess what? They upload weekly.

SPEAKER_00

Wow.

SPEAKER_02

And guess what? Guess what? Luca. Lucas. Luca just has also done solo episodes. I don't know what that comparison's for, but I'm just saying. We're copycats. We're not unique anymore.

SPEAKER_01

We're not unique. We've never been unique. We've never been unique. It's always gonna come down to this part.

SPEAKER_02

I thought we were doing something like Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That's unique.

SPEAKER_02

You think I wouldn't drink carbonation before recording? But no, you I I thought that we had something. I thought we had a what do you call it? A ball of lightning. Lightning in a jar. Not literally. I don't think it was gonna blow up. But like that would that would've been pretty cool if you had lightning in a jar. Two best friends talk about the furry fandom sometimes and also post on Tuesdays every week. Fuck, dude. Look at us trying to be unique, and then we got skunk. Anyway, I I guess shout out to Naples and Bananas, which by the way, their podcast is pretty cool. I started listening to the first few episodes. Um I'll have to check them out. So yeah, no, all jokes aside, I randomly came across this podcast, and ironically, it's very similar to ours. Um, not intended. They did come much before us. Nonetheless, though, they're actually pretty great. So anyone who is listening to this podcast, go give Naples and Bananas a uh a look. And hey, uh if if Luca or Naples listen to this and y'all want to come on, let us know. I'd be more than happy to do an episode with y'all.

SPEAKER_01

We'd be it'd be sick to have them on here. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But um, no, so I I'm doing okay. Yeah, I just wanted to throw that in there. I thought it was kind of funny that I came across that. So but I'm doing okay. Fake news. Fake news. We're gonna build a wall. I can't do it. How did I do it last time? What word did I say? What was my trigger trunk? What was my Trump trigger word? Frankly. Frankly. Frankly. We're gonna build a wall. I don't I don't listen to him enough to know. Anyway. I'm okay. Life's been a lot lately, I'm not gonna lie. We also had a drive-by shooting yesterday, so that was kind of cool. Um holy shit. Yeah, like 2 a.m. Apparently I slept through it, but what the fuck? Right, Spooky?

unknown

Right!

SPEAKER_02

I heard him go right. Uh but yeah, no, I guess there was a shooting yesterday um down my street. Uh no one's hurt, thankfully. But when I was coming home today, uh there was a helicopter above our house. And uh, I guess there was uh a driver doing some bad stuff and chasing from running from police. So, you know, life's been a little bland, but apparently it's getting a little spicy. Yeah, it sounds pretty spicy. A little too spicy, I'm not gonna lie. How's your spice lived life?

SPEAKER_01

My spice lived life is okay. Today I woke up at a Weasley 8 30 a.m. and I got out of bed and I did absolutely nothing for four hours, and then I went to the dentist. They cleaned my teeth.

SPEAKER_02

Ooh, no cavities?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. I have cavities. Oh. Dirty mouth. Dirty mouth. Dirty mouth bacterial infested mouth.

SPEAKER_02

That's what you get when you live in fucking rivers and lakes, man.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. The teeth eating the disease.

SPEAKER_02

I'm drinking a beer, sorry.

SPEAKER_01

You're drinking a what kind of beer?

SPEAKER_02

Uh Labat Blue. Um, Spooky gave me one. Um, for anyone who doesn't know Spooky's my furry roommate, who's awesome. Uh Spooky gave me one, and then I'm going back downstairs to get my laundry prior to the recording. He's like, hey, do me a favor. Uh, be sure to get yourself a beer. I'm like, I don't need another one. I'm okay. And then he does so I got another, I got another beer. You got another beer? Got another beer, so I'm happy. Nice. Very nice. A beer a day keeps the depression away, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. You know what? I should go get me a little drink to Zip on. Can I go get a little drinky drink? Yeah, go get a little drinky drink. All right, let me go get a little drinky drink. Talk to our beautiful listeners about your stuff, you know.

unknown

Your stuff.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. While he's gone, I just want to say, I'm just gonna shout out Arden, uh, who's who started tuning into the show and has been commenting a little bit. I've seen all your comments, dude. You're a Warframe enjoyer. That's great. I why uh uh furries need to play Warframe, and I need to meet furries who do Warframe, so that's awesome. Uh anyone who doesn't know, uh we put elevator music, so this might be very boring for anyone who doesn't care about video games or or you know, like a sci-fi game. Warframe is really cool, and I really think that anyone should play Warframe is really cool, like 13-year-old game. It's live service, but it has like the best live service by a good company called Extreme. So, yes, Warframe is great. I need to meet more people who do Warframe. Been seeing your comments, appreciate you, Arden. You're awesome. Just want to like give you a little shout out because you're you're pretty cool uh for that. So yeah, I have nothing else to add.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I'm back. I'm back, and I got my uh I'm drinking uh ounce of hope peach buzz.

SPEAKER_02

What is that?

SPEAKER_01

That's what the drink's called. It's called an ounce of hope, and it's the flavor's peach buzz, and it's five milligrams of Delta 9 THC.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, listen, all I'm gonna say, oh okay, it's on alcohol. Okay, listen. If that was alcohol, what I was gonna say is that sounds like a mom who just got divorced and is drinking her life away.

SPEAKER_01

No, I I forgot where I got these from and I tried them and they were actually really good. And did you was that what you had when we were at your webinar? My wowing. Um, no. Uh I did have a peach TH drink at the wedding as well, though. This just tastes like like one of those soda waters. It just is good.

SPEAKER_02

I have soda water. Hell yeah, like LaCroix. Maybe I'll chug it next episode. I I I was so a little side tangent before we get into anything. I had my girlfriend. Uh-huh. Adobe, make sure I had twinkles. Adobe had twinkles. I'm a girlfriend over. Anytime I say girlfriend, I gotta add twinkles. Like girlfriend, see, that's not a twinkle. That's like twinkle twinkle number four.

SPEAKER_01

If you say, if you say my girlfriend, there's no twinkle. But if you say my girlfriend.

SPEAKER_02

See, that's five twinkles now. Uh I for I just wanted to drink one of my bubbles, which is just like a sparkling water. And uh, I just was like, hey, do you think I can drink this whole thing without burping? She's like, no. And we were gonna bet money on it, but I don't want to take any money from her. But uh anyway, I got down to about a third of the can. My stomach hurts so bad. Oh no. And I did the biggest burp. So I don't know. Maybe I can be convinced next episode. I think you can do it. I'll shotgun one with you. Do you have sparkling water as well? I'll get one. Oh, we'll do that. All right, next episode. Stay tuned next episode, everyone. Next week. Shotgun hang up. Next week. What's it? I don't want to shotgun it because I don't want to get water all over my monitor and keyboard. Uh I miss you. Is that clear?

SPEAKER_01

I miss you. I miss you. I miss you so much. Oh my god, before I got on here to come record with you, my BMX parts came in. And I'm so excited because they didn't get delivered yesterday because I typed in the wrong shipping address. Oh I I put the wrong number and the street the street number off by like three numbers. And I fucked everything up and I had to call the corporate number, and they were like, okay, yeah, we can get your address changed, and they can ship it out to you again, and you'll get it tomorrow. It's beautiful. I'll I'll I'll post some work in progress progress pictures on the on my Twitter and I'll repost them on the on the Twit. On the twit. On the twit. Once I get back out in the park, I'll probably go out to the park this weekend if it doesn't rain and I'll snag some pics of the build.

SPEAKER_02

As you should.

SPEAKER_01

My bruise is looking better. Is it? Thankfully, yes.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that looks pretty fucking gnarly, dude. That was that was wild.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, my sh my shoulder overall is feeling better. Good. I mean, I didn't realize how far I'd fell until I was looking at a bowl yesterday, another skate park where they have it labeled on the ground how deep it is. And it was a six-foot drop.

SPEAKER_02

Onto the shoulder.

SPEAKER_01

Because you hit your head then rolled to your shoulder, right? Yeah. Yes. Six foot drop straight to my head and my shoulder.

SPEAKER_02

At least you haven't any Dane Brammage.

SPEAKER_01

Dane Dane Dane Blamage.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I'm happy you're alive. Also, I just want to ask, this is gonna sound stupid. Are we you're recording, right? Yes, I'm recording.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I just this went so smooth. Alright, you said the intro.

SPEAKER_02

I know, I know. I just mean like the intro went so smooth. We didn't shutter, we didn't mess up, we didn't have any taste. I know. So I was like, oh because we're that good. You're that good.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't do the intro, that was all you. Nah, duh. What do you mean?

SPEAKER_02

It's because you so sexy. Ah, sexy guy. Look at this guy over. So it no, I've been I've been so mean. I have re-listened to a couple episodes lately, and I'm like, god damn, I'm an asshole. So I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna tone it back. Because at the end of the day, I need to be with you together forever. Together forever. And if we don't have that, I I lose a part of myself.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Probably my penis. You're yep, I'm connected to your penis. Spiritually, spiritually connected to your penis.

SPEAKER_02

That's why you're salamanders. It looks like okay, alright. Too far. Too far.

SPEAKER_01

Dude, speaking of speaking of penises, I got these things from Walmart, right? And the frozen food department, in the frozen food section. Called and they're made by Trolley, you know, the company that makes gummy worms. Yeah. They're the gummy pops, bro. The gummy. They're actually really good. Are they? They're really, really good. They're so good.

SPEAKER_02

Is it like is the texture different?

SPEAKER_01

The texture's the texture's weird.

SPEAKER_02

I have a feeling I forgot.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like it's cold, squishy, it's cold, soft cock in your mouth.

SPEAKER_02

But you bite it, so that sounds unpleasant.

SPEAKER_01

Or you can suck on it. And it kind of it kind of has the consistency of like a sorbet. If you th if you want to think about it. If you if you yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Interesting.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Anyways, what are we in for? We're gonna we're gonna we're gonna relax today for you. We are gonna just chill. Oh sweet. I just have a simple topic I want to talk about, and we'll just see where it goes. But I would like for us to talk about nostalgia.

SPEAKER_00

Ooh.

SPEAKER_02

So everyone's familiar with nostalgia, something from your childhood or something in the past that comes up, and you get this intense emotional feeling. Sometimes it's bitter, sometimes it's uh sad, sometimes it can be a combination of pleasure or yearning for the past. I wanted to talk about our experiences with nostalgia. I wanted to go over some of our past experiences, specifically in the furry fandom, that might be nostalgic. And then I kind of want to gauge where you and I are at right now. So when we're 10 years older and we're looking back on today's day, what might be nostalgic now? So we'll go we'll go through all that throughout the episode. Oh yeah. Let me pull up the definition of I hate I I hate Google AI because I asked for the definition of nostalgia and it gave me a fucking paragraph with all these bullet points. Nostalgia definition. I want it to be clear in our head. Nostalgia. Why nostalgia? What's so hard about this? Alright, we're on Marion Webster Dictionary. A sad pleasure experience in recall. A sad pleasure experience in recalling what no longer exists. A wistful or sentimental yearning for a return to or the return of some real or romanticized past period or some irrecoverable past condition or setting. Wow, I damn.

SPEAKER_01

It's a good definition.

SPEAKER_02

I got good at reading. I'm not gonna lie. I got that pretty dumb.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, good job. Yeah. Um, so you're grum and you know you should know how to read. I'm a big boy. He's a big boy. Hey, clap for the big boy.

SPEAKER_00

I pat you on your big dumbhead.

SPEAKER_02

I hate this pit. I hate this bit. So when I think about nostalgia, and what made me come up with this topic was uh I don't don't don't worry, guys. We're very unique as a podcast. Don't worry. Yes, absolutely very unique. The past couple weeks, um, when I lay down for bed, I will go on YouTube and I usually just try to find like a three-hour I kind of maybe lo-fi, but just some kind of sleep music, just something in the background, um, if my room's pretty quiet. White noise, if you will. But okay. Uh I I listen like lo-fi stuff, and what started coming up lately was like three to eight hour long Minecraft like 2010 compilation songs, or just you know, it showed the old uh for anyone who might have played way back in the early, you know, early to later 2000s, 2010s, I should say. I don't know. Whenever Minecraft young age, we're both in our 20s. So if you played when you were a kid, you're probably familiar. The old Tutorial World, Xbox 360 version. Uh just all those old songs was like it hit me. It hit me my feelings because it was kind of sad. And I'm a very visual person in my mind, so I just I was just imagining where I was at the time and what I used to play and all the friends I used to play with. Oh has there been anything for you in that we'll we'll go into furry here in a little bit, but uh what's just in general in your general day-to-day life? Is there anything that sparks nostalgia for you? Is it is there any smells, uh scenery? Is there any uh videos? Anything anything that just comes to mind when you think of nostalgia?

SPEAKER_01

Dude, every time I smell exhaust, I think of I think of the times at my grandma's house whenever we would race dirt bikes around her house in her in her giant yard that she had. We would uh That's fun. We would we would take a single dirt bike and we would and or whatever vehicle that was wanting to be driven on our little track that day and we would drive it around the house for time and we would all try to beat each other and it was fun.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, you guys had a little time trials together. That's so fun.

SPEAKER_01

You all wear helmets? No. I did.

SPEAKER_02

I did after I fell a lot. How familiar. How familiar. I'm gonna try to light a candle near my podcast microphone.

SPEAKER_01

Everything goes ablaze.

SPEAKER_02

So when you think of like those kind of memories, I'm not really bouncing off anything here, but I'm just curious, like, does that make you feel good? Does it make you kind of like feel bad almost because like those times are gone? Like, what does that make you feel?

SPEAKER_01

No, I mean, I'm kind of weird. Like, like I'll think of like old shit, I'll think of like past shit, and I'll be like, oh that was cool. We're like, oh that was sad. Or like, oh, that was happy. And then I'll just go on about my day. I mean, I don't really I don't really sit and ponder on it afterwards. No, I'm not really one to sit and ponder about that kind of stuff.

SPEAKER_02

That means I'm the oddball here because when I think of stuff that makes me feel nostalgic or old people.

SPEAKER_01

But that's okay. That's okay.

SPEAKER_02

I get sad. It makes me miss old times. And I like I'm also very aware that I can still make good memories now, which is I'm I definitely miss old times for sure. I don't necessarily miss being a kid. But I just I don't know. I'm just weird. Yeah. Like I'll I'll go into some more recent things that are still nostalgic, even though it wasn't too, too long ago. I'll go into that stuff later. But like the feeling of nostalgia is just such like a it's kind of a mind fuck. Because it's just such a mix, it's it's its own emotion, it's such a mix of it's like a roller coaster of emotions you experience depend, especially depending on what you're thinking of, yet it's still all one concrete filling feeling.

SPEAKER_01

It could be so many emotions at once, all at the same time.

SPEAKER_02

Um, what else made me feel nostalgic? Um, the Minecraft song is one of them for sure. The more old Minecraft songs. Absolutely. Ooh, the the uh the Halo being song. Oh Halo Reach. Halo Reach was for me. What halo was it for you? Halo Reach, dude. Halo 3. Halo 3, I know that's a big one for everyone. I never had another.

SPEAKER_01

Halo Reach was fantastic.

SPEAKER_02

I love I love Halo 80.

SPEAKER_01

Dude, Forge on Halo Reach went crazy. It did. Oh man, I missed those days, dude. I missed the fucking Halo days. The good Halo days. The good Halo Days. Everything after Reach kind of everything after Reach kind of sucked.

SPEAKER_02

There's when you you mentioned that another like not a game, but something that was similar that came to mind for me was um my DSI that I still have, I still have it. Um Flip Note Studio. Flip note, like old Flipnotes.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, you showed me through you, you had gone through those with me.

SPEAKER_02

Did I? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I showed you my old flip notes. No, dude, we were plastered. I don't remember that. I think it was like my first or second anthrocon with you.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, I don't remember. Like, I still have it, it's in great fucking condition. It somehow still holds its fucking battery life. Those things are built different, but also just use less power. But surgeon going through those will make me like feel nostalgical over again. I used to make some of them, but I used to used to watch some of them. Like, this was back when I didn't have a phone or any MP3 player back at the time. So I used to plug in my headphones, download back back when I when I was in Wi-Fi range, I would download like a flip note of like a 30-second to minute long song. And it wasn't even the full song. I think it was like a Bruno Mars, like what's the lazy Bruno Mars song? So you don't feel like doing anything. Um lazy song, something like that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, lazy song.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I I had that on the DS and a few others that were only like 30 seconds to a minute long. I was just listening to my repeat. Like they weren't even the full volume. That's funny. That's a big one for me. But that that's an emotion I cherish because I don't wish to have I don't need that back again. So that's definitely like that's a good nostalgic memory. Um, what else could spark for you? Is there any is there any like smells? Uh well you already mentioned a smell. Is there any like um I I mean just shoot it, like what else you got that's nostalgic for you.

SPEAKER_01

Hmm. Let me think.

SPEAKER_02

Some I will say, sometimes it just hits me out of nowhere. Sometimes I like if I it I only have a few things in my my my mind right now that's that I would say is nostalgic, but sometimes nostalgia just hits me of something I just forgot like long forgot about.

SPEAKER_01

Would have no idea. But I remember growing up eating um hot dogs, but not the kind of hot dogs that everybody else grew up on. Uh not not like a hot dog weenie in a bun. Um it was uh a hot dog weenie cut up into like little pieces and put into a bowl with hot dog sauce put into the bowl and everything's mixed up and you eat it with a spoon.

SPEAKER_02

Uh what the fuck's hot dog sauce? What is that?

SPEAKER_01

Uh you don't know what hot dog sauce is?

SPEAKER_02

Is it like mayo chuck? What is that?

SPEAKER_01

No, no, no, no, no, no. It's like chili. It's like a chili.

SPEAKER_02

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

How was your bung bowl after that? Oh, it was fine. I tore that I tore that shit up.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'm sure.

SPEAKER_01

I tore that shit up. Boy, cable.

SPEAKER_02

My my grandmother used to make these specific kinds of eggs in like these blue and white bowls when I was at her house and slept over her house. And I don't know if she did it for me or I did it, that I don't remember, but I used to put a little bit of ketchup on my my scrambled eggs, and I would take a fork and just mash the scrambled eggs to be very, very like fine and very, very small. That specific meal with how I would mash it with my fork with the ketchup intermix, that's her that exact kind of way of having egg is very nostalgic for me. It's a very specific taste. Good memory as well. That's a good one. That's a good one. So we'll move into furry stuff here soon, but is there anything like in the past few years that might be nostalgic for you at all? Something more recent?

SPEAKER_01

My mowage. Your mowage. My mowage, I miss my mowage.

SPEAKER_02

Is that already nostalgic for you?

SPEAKER_01

It was fun. It was a fun time, fun little time. Very expensive, fun little time. But it was.

SPEAKER_02

I I I know down the road I'm gonna look back on that. And be like, wow.

SPEAKER_01

I can't wait to get the pictures back and get the pit the cigarette pictures of you.

SPEAKER_02

I am so excited for those.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, I love our photographers, dude. They were so fantastic. They were great. Uh, what was that guy's name? Brandon. Brandon! Brandon! He was great. He was great. He was fantastic. Uh Daddy's listening, but shout out to the photographer, Brandon. Shout out to Brandon.

SPEAKER_02

Do you ever want to post those on the Twit or are you uh scared about your face?

SPEAKER_01

I don't give a fuck.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, well, then maybe when those roll in, we might go in on the new photos. You guys have to be rolling.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So let's start moving into some furry stuff. So what I want to talk about here doesn't matter what it is. Uh I whether it's our own nostalgic furry experiences or things that you might think are nostalgic for other people. Um, what comes to mind in that range is like pre-COVID cons. Obviously, you and I never experienced that, but I get I I have a feeling from what I've heard from other people that pre-COVID cons pre-nostalgic because they were smaller, they had different vibe prior to COVID. Um I bet. But I just I don't know much about that. But yeah, what comes to mind for you?

SPEAKER_01

I'd have to say I miss the old online culture of the furry fandom. Like on being on fur affinity and deviant art and furry amino where you talk to predators. Yeah, where you get groomed. It happened.

SPEAKER_02

That's it's the groomer. That did happen. It's the the groomer for furries. Furry Amino is furry amino is very nostalgic, I will say, for myself personally. Like the old I never used it much with furry amino, and I think it's why it gets a bad rap, depending on like what the mo who the moderator. I don't know the moderation team at the time or anything like that, but I was like, fuck. I was maybe 14 exploring furry amino. And on furry amino, you could, I don't know if it's still like this now, but you could join group chats, public group chats. It's it's like imagine going on Twitter and there's a specific page where you just scroll and you're like, oh, here's a group chat for roleplay. Oh, here's a group chat for art. Oh, here's a just furry group chat because someone decided to make it and anyone can make it, and then you just see the amount of people that are in that group chat and just join it and just start texting. That's awesome. Um, the idea is cool, but obviously the execution is terrible. Great. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely god-awful.

SPEAKER_02

Uh one of my first furry pieces, I think the first furry drawing, the first one I have ever made, I'm gonna see if I can find it, was from a furry minor group chat. I was like, hey, I just want to start drawing furries because you y'all you guys just are sending your uh your your refs. I'm gonna see if I can find it while we're chatting, because that's pretty relevant. And I haven't thought about that in forever. But yeah, furry me is a very like I kind of miss those times, but not necessarily furry Mino. I just miss the simple furry times where I didn't wasn't worried about any drama. I wasn't very involved. I just kind of kind of just did me, and that was enough. I miss those days.

SPEAKER_01

I miss those. I miss those days where I would be staying up until like 3, 4 a.m. talking to friends. Like like Crow, for example. I grew up Oh yeah at a young age talking to Crow. We me and Crow were both really young when we s when we met, and we we kicked it off and they moved close to me, but we never got to meet. And then they moved away a little closer to me, still kind of close to me, but um they're still in Texas, so we're we're both in Texas. Just that I think they're in Houston, and I'm I'm in Dallas, the Dallas area. So like me and Crow, we would stay up like pretty much all fucking night and just talk about whatever. And it was childhood.

SPEAKER_02

They were sorry, best friend.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, dude.

SPEAKER_02

It was it was great. That's awesome. Um, where did you meet Crow at? What app was that on? Like what maybe you I apologize if I missed it while I was looking, but where did you guys meet? For Affinity?

SPEAKER_01

For Fur Affinity, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

What led to that? Because I didn't know for Affinity was like a social space, I thought it was more for a p place to post.

SPEAKER_01

I think I was going through like comments or something. I don't know. Like some shouts, and I stumbled upon their name, and I'd I for whatever reason I I I went to their profile and I liked what I saw, and they seemed interesting to me. So I'd what I gave them a watch and then I sent them a note and I was like, hey, I love your sauna and everything and all that stuff. And then I found out that they were moving down that little instance as well.

SPEAKER_02

That's awesome. That is awesome. Wow, I love that. I um I'm gonna talk about him. No bad blood. Obviously, him and I aren't friends anymore, but uh, I think your crow was my Kieran. Um that was my childhood furry best friend. I've been him off for you, you know. We were friends for a very long time, had a fallout, unfortunately. I'm got nothing bad to say. I mean, I was uh I was I was younger. We were him and I were both a little bit younger, and uh I had some yeah, I had some little I had a little bit of mental things going on, and I was struggling a little bit. So no bad blood there. But yeah, I uh I a lot of my memories that I had with Kieran are very nostalgic for me. Um I I I know you met him um and as well, which I guess I guess I wasn't that young. But you know, stuff happened, sucked, is the way it is, but yeah, I remember meeting some of those people. I had some of those friends carried carried on for a little while and they kind of fizzled out from uh from those them old days.

SPEAKER_01

The old days.

SPEAKER_02

The image I sent you, I hate it so much, but that was I'm pretty sure the very first ever furry drawing I made. That was me. I have one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Uh I have eight of those drawings. I was just in a furry me no public chat, ask people to send me the Sona, and I would just draw it with graphite. That's all I did. That's what I sent them. I didn't sell them anything more than that. But 2017, I guess I really wasn't that young, but uh young young enough. I wasn't a child, but 2017, how old was I? That was nine years ago. Almost to the day. Oh my god. That is almost June 7th. So I was Oh my god, I've been a furry for nine years.

SPEAKER_01

Really?

unknown

Wow.

SPEAKER_02

I think I've said that before, but it's only now hit. I got you beat though. Well, you're old and grody. I don't know what to tell you.

SPEAKER_01

It's been almost ten years. Look at you. Oh no, it's it's over ten years. Twelve years. Wow.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's crazy. I mean, I know people have been the fan of for a very long time. I'm I'm still a baby compared to some people. Um I found a chat from Furry Amino. Beagle in red. I texted him off Furry Amino. Um I'm cringing. I said hello. That was my catchphrase. It was H A L L U. Hello. Uh I just want to say that I love your videos so much and your fur city is just so adorable. If I may ask, do you planning do you plan to keep doing YouTube? Uh he said, Yosh, I will be doing YouTube for a while. That is the conversation. That's it. You know my next interaction with next interaction with Beagle Red after that was?

SPEAKER_01

What?

SPEAKER_02

And I struck him. And I was I went up to him all drunk. This is so embarrassing. This is not a broken moment. No. On the off chance, Beagle. I I I highly doubt this will come to you. But if it does, people please tag him. This would be really funny. I I'm so sorry, but yeah, I came up to him and I was so drunk. And I I think I was like, hey, I I just I was trying to find you guys are trying to find someone. I was like, hey, I just want to say that I think you're really cool. I really like I used to watch you on YouTube. Do you study YouTube? I used to watch you anyway. I I'm I'm a Dobie. I just sorry. I I'm sorry, I'm sorry. And I that was it. Or it was something along those lines. I don't remember exactly, but it was right around. You freak. It was like a party, like a day. It was like at like the rave. I think he was monitoring it or something. You freak. Yeah, I was pretty one-sided. I got like I don't remember getting much of a response. I don't know, maybe more happened, but that's that's what I remember. RM fucking P, dude. I know. That uh that connection's long gone, I guess. Oopsies. You can uh you can tell that uh Adobe is red and white. Beagle in red is red and white. Crazy how that works.

SPEAKER_01

Remember that belly flop at TFF?

SPEAKER_00

No! No! I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

I know we've talked, I know we talked about it before, but this was crazy.

SPEAKER_02

We need to have a whole episode on furry cringe because that is genuinely the worst moment that I think back on about myself when it comes to cringing. Like that is that makes my face go inwards. My face is like actively becoming a black hole. Cringe.

SPEAKER_01

That's the next that's that's that's my next topic.

SPEAKER_02

I didn't hear you at all. You didn't hear me? No, I I I did.

unknown

I did I didn't hear you.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah. Yeah, I heard you so good. I heard you so good. Yeah, this is a microphone.

SPEAKER_02

These are really good microphones.

SPEAKER_01

Man, what microphones do you have? I have the Mayono um PDX400.

SPEAKER_02

Wow, I also have the Mayono PDX 400. Is that what it's called? PD400X. Wow, we're fucking stupid. Okay, Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_01

Hell Jesus.

SPEAKER_02

I just re-listened that episode today.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_02

You did? Yeah, the chaotic Quizmus. I just re-listened that episode today.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_02

Oh man. Alright, so we're talking about some social media stuff. Is there any was there any like first two dance competitions, any first two doors specifically? Is there anything that sparked some old memories or anything anything nostalgic for you back then?

SPEAKER_00

Steve What? Steve Steve? Steve. Steve. You don't remember?

SPEAKER_01

You don't remember Steve, dude? Steve. I think it was our first Anthrocon with Strobes on the dance on during the dance competition. With Strobes? You remember Strobes up on during the dance competition? I know I know Strobes. And the A V people, they put Steve instead of Strobes. My eyes are dilating. I'm remembering. And everybody went, Steve!

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, you're right! It's I'm the Steve thing dilating.

SPEAKER_00

Whoa, whoa, whoa. But yeah, no, you're right.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, yeah. Yeah, dude. And it went on for like another year. And then I don't think it happened again.

SPEAKER_02

I don't think so either. No, I will say Anthrocon was it 22? Anthrocon 2022?

SPEAKER_01

Uh uh 2020.

SPEAKER_02

Our first one? Yeah. Yeah, that I that that wasn't that long ago, but that con provides a lot of um nostalgia for me. A lot of memories, good and bad. Some bad ones that started coming from it now, which is unfortunate. Um uh our buddy, which we talked to at the con, unfortunately, kind of fell out of contact with him, but I had a lot of respect for him. He ended ended up passing away prior to uh uh a couple years ago now. I think uh two and a half, maybe two years ago. Cyprus. I I talked to you a little bit about it. We didn't talk to him much. We didn't talk to him much, but he was one of our friends we met at the con. So, you know, that con has some good and bad uh vibes with it. If anyone knows Cyprus, um he was a local to the Pittsburgh area, ended up moving up here. Really good guy. If anyone runs into any of his art, uh he was super, super, super talented. You remember the his uh oil paintings that we would see? Dude, they were sick, they were fucking awesome. He was a good guy, but you know, apart from the sad memories, um, yeah, no, watching the dance comp for the first time, getting uh pictures with poppy furs at the time, uh, or you know, I maybe I should just say like people we would watch or like re-recognize. That was always great. My horrible Adobe 1.0 fit.

SPEAKER_01

That thing was so hot. No, it was not. No, I meant like to wear.

SPEAKER_02

Oh like he said that in a pretty sensual tone.

SPEAKER_03

So I was like, whoa, what?

SPEAKER_02

Like it was so hot to wear. He didn't even fit me well. My nose was crunched in the suit. I know. You couldn't see jack shit out of it. No, it was so dark. But that con is something I very much so cherish. And I I know it won't happen, but I want to have a con experience like that that I can cherish. I have another one, which is probably my uh my last MFF I went to. So, you know, like I I I have some good con memories, but that that first anthrocon, man, that was that was great. That was genuinely great. Is there any other moments to stand out to you then?

SPEAKER_01

During our first anthrocon?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh man.

SPEAKER_02

Or well, I mean, I guess it could be any con in general, because I guess we're on the topic of con. I think.

SPEAKER_01

Dude, when did I bring the skateboard?

SPEAKER_02

That con. Remember we got the the skateboard photo where we're both kneeling down and we have like the camera up. Yeah, because didn't we make the skate video that that year? Oh my god, we did! When year when did that release? I'm gonna look it up now. No one go on my own YouTube, please. No one go on my own YouTube. Oh my god. Adobe the pro in parentheses poser skater. Yes. Three years ago. That really was not that long ago. I have an anthrocon video as well. God, it's so cringy. I need to take that down.

SPEAKER_01

No, leave it. We gotta make it to we gotta make a skate 2.0.

SPEAKER_02

We do. We really do. July 20th of 2022 is when we're the skateboarding. That's not that long ago.

SPEAKER_01

That isn't. That's four years ago.

SPEAKER_02

That's really not long ago. I mean, it is like to some degree, but Wow. It's not that long ago. That's crazy. That is, man. But good vibes, man. Kieran's in the good vibes. Our buddy Kieran's in the well, old friend of mine is in the then those would uh both that one and the old Anthrocon 2022. Cypress is in the Anthrocon 2022. Alright, nostalgia's gonna be down a bad route. I'm getting sad now. Someone uh reroute me, reroute me.

SPEAKER_01

Um, dude, I remember uh no, I remember skating at the uh parking garage with you whenever we were having that little party out by the car. Which con?

SPEAKER_02

Which con?

SPEAKER_01

The first Anthrocon.

SPEAKER_02

First one? We did that a couple times.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, that was really fun. I miss that was that little parking garage.

SPEAKER_02

If anyone listening has still not gone to their first convention, I know we made some convention, like um, you know, episodes, uh, but I just want to say first con is a great experience. Go with the people you're close with, don't overload yourself. It's it is genuinely just a great moment. It's also a good setup for your future cons going forward. You kind of learn what you like then, you learn what you don't like, so your next con's kind of set up a little bit smoother. I'm kind of sad now. This out just hit me a little harder. I'm so sad. That was oh good but good but good memories. All right, so good memories.

SPEAKER_01

Moving forward then. What? My shoulder. I moved I moved weird and I I moved my shoulder weird and I it hurt.

SPEAKER_02

Oh sorry, were you about to put your shoulder like next to mine and put your arm like casually over my my neck? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I yeah, but I I injured my shoulder and it hurts. So if I try to put my shoulder or my arm around your shoulder, it'll hurt because I can kiss it to make it better. Please. Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Where's the melt at?

SPEAKER_01

On the couch or in bed. I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Oh. You can ask her to kiss the megaphone bone. I can kiss the megaphone bone.

SPEAKER_01

You can kiss the microphone. I can put it on the microphone.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, go ahead and put it up under the microphone. Okay, okay, okay. I'm already better. You curious. Wow. Alright, cool. So now we're in a good mood. So moving forward then, uh, before we end out today, I want to go over, you know, if down the road we look back on where you and I are at today, or maybe in the past year, is there any moments in your current life or things that you currently live through in the past few months that you think would be nostalgic for you 10 years down the road?

SPEAKER_01

I think me getting into mountain biking and just biking in general, like BMX and trying to get back into skating a little bit, I think that's gonna be pretty nostalgic for me, especially whenever I get into my 40s, 50s. Yeah. I feel like I won't be able to do that anymore whenever in like 20 years.

SPEAKER_02

That would be disc golf for me if I am if my shoulder heals and I can actually get back into it. Because I'm at when I use disc golf, that's I wouldn't say it's nostalgic, but I could see that the the courses are more what I remember. Right. Um if I get back into disc golf in the next cut few months, I can see that being one of my big things.

SPEAKER_01

Fuck yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I think Adobe 2.0 will be nostalgic for me because I do know that I would like to move forward with Dobes, not on the podcast, but just like what I have via a fursuit. I would like to have a new fursuit that's Dobes. Um my girlfriend might make me a partial. I'll push her. Twinkle! Twinkle, twinkle! I might get a you know, uh partial made from her, and then I wouldn't retire Adobe, but I just wouldn't wear them nearly as much. I'd probably wear them to Cons, you know, if if we end up doing like a panel or something together, obviously I'm gonna wear them, but right I know my fursuit would be nostalgic because it's good memories with my Adobe 2.0 show.

SPEAKER_01

I think I'm gonna have a second fursuit at some point in time. I just don't know when, but I want to keep my first fursuit for the first time.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, don't don't give your 1.0 to an ex and then never get it back. Yeah. Not talking about experience or anything, but I wonder, I don't know. I don't have a lot of memories, but I think maybe for other people nowadays furry Twitter, I feel maybe nostalgic down the road for other people. Maybe not for us, but like whenever it was actually Twitter. Because you know how we we like Twitter, like where Twitter is at right now, or maybe even Twitter itself, because you and I were just talking about furry meano for Affinity. Um, I wonder if down the road, whether it's for us or just people down the road, if uh the furry side of Twitter might be nostalgic in some way, shape, or I could definitely see that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, absolutely.

SPEAKER_02

My local Ferbal, I could see that being one. Um, I don't go to it as much right now, but I have gone to that for years, so I can see that being a little nostalgic for me.

SPEAKER_01

I still haven't gone to my local meet yet. I need to start going. How have you not? I'm nervous. Why? Do you need your hand out? I need I need you there.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I can hold your tail for you while I get introduced to some people.

SPEAKER_01

That's fine.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'll drag you ahead and be like, hey guys, here's my salamander. I just want to introduce him to all of you. My pet salamander. My pet salamander. Don't worry, guys, he does look like my penis.

SPEAKER_01

Gummy pop. Gummy pop. Ryu. What's a verb? Adjective.

SPEAKER_02

Uh I I wonder if our bits, I I wonder if our bits might be nostalgic down the road. I could see that.

SPEAKER_01

Our bits will definitely be nostalgic. A little bits. We need to talk about the bits that we've never done yet. Oh, how do we do that? That'll be in a later episode.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, you mean our list? Yes. What is our list? Okay, I'll I'll look at it in a later episode. We may put in the next one or something. We can just look at it later. It's fine. It is like the next one, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um nostalgic! Nostalgic! Nostalgic! Nostalgic. This episode is gonna be nostalgic. If you think about it.

SPEAKER_02

If it's a good episode, it might not be a good episode.

SPEAKER_01

I think this will be a good episode. It's just a chill episode, like you said in the beginning. That's all it is. Yeah, it is a nice one. We've been having more chill, it's a nice dinner. More chill convo episodes recently, and I like it.

SPEAKER_02

We need it. You and I are stressed out and sad, so let's be unsad together. Unsaid. Let's get happy to get we're outing it up.

SPEAKER_01

Get glad. Get glad. Just lube up. Just lube up, dude. Just lube up. Eric. I miss Eric. Eric is. It hasn't even been that long. Yes. Eric will always be nostalgic because who knows if we'll even see Eric again. But Eric, if you're still out there working at working for the convention center or whatever you do, you're doing a good job, man. And I I respect you. You put a lot of hard work out, and you're a great guy to hang out with and be friends with.

SPEAKER_02

I hope I can run into him next uh during this next Anthrocon.

SPEAKER_01

Hell yeah. That'd be pretty fun. Yeah, let me know. Let me know if you see him and tell him I say what's up.

SPEAKER_02

Absolutely. Well, anyway, yeah. So thank you guys all for tuning into Nostalgia this week. Uh, we don't have a famous this week. Uh so that's okay. SPEAKER_01

He's he's a hardworking man.

SPEAKER_02

Well, we're just depressed, but we'll just boss just take that part out.

SPEAKER_01

We're just we're just some depressed furries making it through life and making a podcast. You know, as best friends. And I love you because we're together for you. I love you. But you know what I am? What? I'm a dumb dog. Oh, I'm a dumb jurg. I'll see you guys in the next one. Bye-bye.
